Since it’s their silver anniversary, maybe give them something silver like an engraved picture frame with a favorite photo of the two of them or a wedding photo. If you really want to go with the gift certificate, I’d do at least $50 and then wrap it in silver paper to keep the ’silver anniversary’ theme going.
This isn’t related to the silver theme, but what about creating a basket of sorts with memorabilia from their wedding year? You could include things like newspaper clippings, the oscar winning movie from that year, a bottle of wine from that year, music from that year, etc. To keep the silver theme going, you could even include a small silver frame with their anniversary date and year engraved on it and a photo inside.
